Senior Medical Coder

The Senior Medical Coder – Anesthesia is responsible for accurately coding anesthesia services using appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes in compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory standards. The role ensures optimal reimbursement while maintaining high quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review anesthesia operative reports and medical records to assign correct CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, AMA, and payer-specific anesthesia coding guidelines.
• Identify and resolve coding edits, denials, and documentation gaps.
• Perform quality checks and mentor junior coders, if required.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy targets as per organizational standards.
• Stay updated with annual coding guideline changes and payer updates.
