Senior MEP Engineer - Electrical

Overview

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy specialising in MEP design and energy solutions, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Central London office.

Duties

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the electrical design and technical delivery of a range of projects, with a particular focus on retail developments. You will collaborate closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.

Development of single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and layouts, including short‑circuit calculations and protection coordination
Lighting design implementation, including technical parameter calculations, emergency lighting (BS 5266), and control strategies
Integration of electrical systems with ELV, fire alarms (BS 5839), CCTV, access control, data networks, and EV charging infrastructure
