Job Summary:
The Service Engineer (Stern Tube Seal) is responsible for inspection, measurement, overhaul, alignment, and testing activities related to stern tube bearings and seal systems. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements during vessel maintenance and repair works.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform wear-down measurements on stern tube bearings, including clearance measurement and condition assessment.
Overhaul forward and aft stern tube seals using Owner-Supplied (O/S) spare parts.
Provide technical instructions and on-site supervision to shipyard personnel during chrome liner skimming processes.
Conduct normal shaft alignment to ensure proper installation and operational integrity.
