Duties and Responsibilities of a Sewer

• Operate sewing machines to stitch, assemble, and finish garments or textile products
• Follow patterns, measurements, and work instructions accurately
• Cut fabric and materials according to specifications when required
• Perform alterations, repairs, and adjustments on garments
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
• Maintain cleanliness and proper use of sewing tools and machines
• Identify and report defects or equipment issues to the supervisor
• Meet production targets while maintaining quality standards
• Use materials efficiently to minimize waste
• Perform hand sewing and finishing tasks as needed
• Follow workplace safety rules and proper handling of equipment
• Assist in packaging and labeling of finished items
• Comply with company policies and supervisor instructions
