SHARED SERVICES MANAGER
Rationale
The shared services model centralizes administrative functions that are performed by stand-
alone subsidiaries and affiliates (and often in separate locations), such as finance, treasury,
human resources, procurement and IT (the Business Units) and are combined and overseen
by a specialized shared services management function. Centralization involves engaging a
core team to perform these services. The rationale for this is to cut costs, increase efficiency
or access better qualified talent. The objective is to avoid duplication of effort, achieve
economies of scale, and improve cost efficiency and service levels.
A Shared Services Manager (SSM), in conjunction with Business Units, will be responsible for
overseeing the efficient delivery of shared services to Clients (Clients, being subsidiaries and
