SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT)

Summary You will serve as a Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will assess damaged parts to determine the sequence of operations necessary for sheet metal repairs or replacements. You will remove fixed sheet metal and composite structures from aircraft and disassemble structural and non-structural metal and composite components. You will use hand or power tools to make replacement parts for aircraft structural and skin sections. You will work from technical drawings, directives, manuals, and other written or verbal instructions to complete sheet metal work. You will comply with safety regulations, practices, and procedures. You will assist with training and/or mentoring other artisans at the same or lower level.
