THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Reporting to the Blast Supervisor, the Shotfirer is responsible for carrying out open pit charging and blasting activities, safely, and in accordance with specific blast requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and fire blast holes in accordance with the blast plan, to prepare the ground for production mining crews.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and standard operating procedures in relation to designing, charging, and firing of open pit blasts.  This includes being an appointed Shotfirer and Magazine Keeper.
• Report on and fix hazards when encountering them to ensure a safe working environment.
