Position at Samtec, Inc The SI Design Engineer simulates & optimizes electrical models of connectors & cable assemblies, working closely with the mechanical design team to navigate trade-offs and arrive together at the optimal balance of mechanical and electrical performance.Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
  • Use novel techniques in modeling & simulation to design new connectors, cable assemblies, and connector evaluation PCBs with a focus on developing world-class solutions on tight timelines, achieving excellent correlation between measurement and simulation.
  • Perform high-speed empirical and analytical signal integrity evaluations of interconnects. Work with lab team remotely to validate design and correlate measurement with simulations using VNA, TDR, and Oscilloscope. Previous experience using high-speed measurement equipment is beneficial but not required.
