SMSF Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

The SMSF Senior Accountant will be responsible for a range of tasks to help their self‑managed superannuation team deliver timely service to internal and external stakeholders. The core focus is on preparation of income tax returns, financial statements and activity statements (BAS/IAS) for superannuation funds (SMSF).

• SMSF Compliance & Accounting
  • Prepare SMSF financial statements, income tax returns, and electronic workpapers using BGL360
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
  • Prepare and lodge Transfer Balance Account Reports (TBARs) in accordance with ATO requirements
  • Monitor and manage SMSF lodgement deadlines
  • Liaise with auditors and Australian team members to resolve audit issues efficiently
  • Ensure audit documentation is complete, technically sound, and review‑ready
