Social Worker II

Your Opportunity:

Social Work at the Sturgeon Hospital is looking for a Social Worker to support patients and families in an acute setting. This position requires both a high degree of independent critical thinking as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to provide counseling and crisis intervention services with patients and families in the emergency room and in other inpatient areas of the hospital. You will be required to prioritize workload, formulate assessments and create intervention plans in a short timeframe. These plans include psychosocial interventions, risk assessment, and recommendations and provision of referrals for ongoing treatment and/or discharge planning. The Social worker will demonstrate exceptional communication skills with patients, family members and physicians.
