1. Organisational context

Organisational setting:
The Internal Audit Capability (IAC) of Europol is a Management Board (MB) related function solely accountable to the MB. 

The mission of the IAC is to provide independent, risk-based, objective assurance advice, insight and foresight to add value and improve Europol’s operations.

The IAC helps Europol in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control processes, thereby promoting a culture of efficient and effective management within Europol.
