Overview

The post holder will be required to work effectively, both as an independent practitioner and as a member of a paediatric oncology multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will be expected to provide skilled, excellent, specialist oncology nursing care and advice. The post holder will empower the child/young person and their carers throughout the duration of their cancer treatment. The post holder will be competent and confident in delivering care to the child/young person. The post holder will be required to liaise effectively with principal treatment centres and other health care teams and act as a resource to other health professionals.

The post holder will help to ensure that the training and competence of ward staff, day unit staff and community nursing teams is upheld in relation to the care of children and young people with cancer.
