About the role

AEMO’s Systems Engineering Group is responsible for keeping the power system technically capable of supporting Australia’s energy transition. These responsibilities include performing technical analysis to assess future system needs, integration and operational enablement of distributed energy resources, identifying capability gaps, developing operational solutions and procuring system services to close these gaps, supporting long-term technical planning, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The transition in the Energy market is requiring the continued connection of vast quantities of new generation and storage plant. There are currently over projects, representing over 55 GW of capacity, in the AEMO connections pipeline.
