Job Description
The Workers Compensation Staff Attorney II provides legal defense to policyholders and supports NJM’s Workers Compensation Claims Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Protect the interest of NJM policyholders in litigated workers’ compensation matters through the point of settlement or decision
+ Work with staff in the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs and other documents
+ Provide case status updates, recommendations, and legal guidance to policyholders and Workers’ Compensation Claims staff
+ Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
+ Work collaboratively with other enterprise stakeholders in the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims
+ Handle complex litigation and develop litigation strategies in collaboration with policyholders
+ Perform other duties as assigned
