Primary Function

This Duty Counsel will provide family and criminal duty counsel services in the Tri-Counties region (Brantford, Simcoe and Cayuga). The role may also include supporting the Institutional Duty Counsel Program for the Central West District and may require occasional travel throughout the district.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as Family and Criminal Duty Counsel.
  • Assess clients’ needs and early identification of vulnerable clients to facilitate referrals to appropriate services.
  • Represent clients both in‑person and remotely.
