Strathcona County Legislative Officer Role

Elevate municipal governance as a Legislative Officer at Strathcona County. This role involves managing Council processes, supporting public engagement, and ensuring compliance in a vital democratic space.
As a Legislative Officer, you will report to the Manager of the Municipal Clerk’s Office. This position includes coordinating Council meeting agendas and facilitating Public Hearings. You'll also mentor staff in report writing procedures while engaging with elected officials and the public to enhance transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and support Council and Committee meetings
• Mentor staff on Council Report Writing and procedures
• Manage and coordinate the annual Council meeting calendar
• Protect confidentiality of closed session records
• Provide information regarding meeting procedures
Requirements:
• Specialized training in Office Administration
• At least 9 years of administrative experience
