Structural Engineer

Overview

The Structural Engineer is responsible for the delivery of structural calculations, drawings, and reports for assigned shipbuilding projects. The role ensures all structural outputs meet class, flag, and client requirements, and are completed within schedule and budget.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations using spreadsheets, hand methods, or FEA software (e.g. STRAND7).
• Prepare drawings, lift plans, reports, and requisitions aligned with Austal standards and project specifications.
• Collaborate with production, project, and design teams to ensure deliverables are integrated and accurate.
• Ensure outputs are thoroughly planned, internally checked, and compliant with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
