Structural Engineer

Responsible for daily tasks involved in design of facilities and structures.

Under general supervision, perform all aspects of design which includes performing actual design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and/or coordinating design and construction activities, studying, planning, programming, and various analyses.

Perform calculations for design of structural members of concrete and steel, and organize data required for reports.

Thorough checking to ensure the details are within the design codes and requirements and the overall drawings should meet the acceptable quality standards.

Develop design criteria such as gravity loads, wind and seismic.

Vast knowledge of statics, strength of materials, finite element modeling, and building/structure systems.

Able to provide technical guidance to drafters and less experienced engineers.
