Job Description

Duties:


Assist students with developing an understanding of course work.

Explain concepts, clarify information, answer student questions, and offer support.

Help students prepare for tests/exams and assignments.

Model student success strategies.

And other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:


Current Brandon University student

  • Students majoring in Sociology (3rd year or above) preferred

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work one-on-one or with a group

  • Ability to help students develop their problem-solving skills with enthusiasm

  • Demonstrated patience and ability to relate to students with varying learning styles

  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Previous experience as a group tutor is an asset
