Incorporated under the Ontario Corporations Act in 1969, the Alma Mater Society of Queen's University Incorporated is a non‑share capital corporation created to support the interests of the Alma Mater Society (an unincorporated association). AMS Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of AMS student members, non‑student experts/alumni, the Society executive, and the General Manager. The Board serves to govern the corporate and administrative services provided by the AMS, with a particular focus on corporate governance, finance, audit and risk, and personnel matters. Directors of AMS Inc. are bound by law to act in the interest of both the objectives of AMS Inc. and its members.
