Substitute Registered School Nurse

TITLE – Public School Nurse

Minimum Qualifications

• California credential authorizing service as a school nurse. Hold valid California drivers license and provide personal motor vehicle. Hold valid certificates in audiometry, CPR and first aid.
• Experience
• Five years successful nursing experience

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in planning the school health budget.
• Obtain a general health and developmental history for Special Education placement studies
• Transport sick children as deemed necessary
• Refer pupils for appropriate health care and follows through as needed
• Review health status of pupils with identified health problems
• Conduct vision, hearing and scoliosis screening as required by law
• Identify pupils and families in need of health counseling and makes appropriate referral
• Attend Special Education Student Study Team meetings as needed
