Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Sumatra Landscape Governance & Sustainable Land Use Manager serves as the primary technical and strategic lead for the Save Sumatra initiative supported by MFP5.


This role is responsible for advancing the transformation of forest governance in Sumatra from fragmented, sector-based management into an integrated landscape governance approach. Using 26 Watershed units, 38 Eco-Floristic Sectors (EFS), and key species habitats and corridors as the scientific foundation, the Manager ensures alignment across conservation, production, and restoration mandates to safeguard the Ecologically Important Areas (EIAs) of the Sumatran Ecosystem.


The Manager supports the integration of land-use governance by strengthening collaboration and alignment among Ministry of Forestry directorates through technical advisory, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge facilitation. The objective is to promote land-use planning and...
