Supervisory Aviation Technical Systems Specialist (SATSS, Group Manager)

Summary The incumbent of this position directs the work of subordinate managers and employees for a Group within the Air Traffic Organization, Service Center, Quality Control Group. Provides inspections, evaluations, safety risk management, (short-term and long-term) objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/SO. Responsibilities Work activities impact directly on goals and objectives of the major subdivision, the LOB/SO, and often the FAA. Work frequently affects the internal and external customers of the major subdivision, and often the LOB/SO and the FAA accident and incident information gathering and reporting, and safety initiatives to ATO Service Units and other FAA organizations to align with and support FAA safety objectives. Conducts technical evaluations for both Federal and non-Federal facilities and equipment with the Service Area identifying relevant trends in runway safety and Flight Plan safety goals.
