Supervisory Transportation Assistant

Responsibilities Plans and directs the activities of employees engaged in performing a wide variety of First and Second Destination Transportation. Oversees clerical and complex technical Transportation Assistant functions involved in coordinating the movement of inbound and outbound shipments, scheduling and coordinating carrier delivery or pick-up of freight. Arranges for the most economical shipment of freight; processes associated documents; and performs various other tasks associated with the movement of materials. Directs section operations through subordinates involved in procedural, routine and typically provides services to the Transportation Branch. Participates in meetings with Disposition Services to provide information on the workload accomplished by the branch in support of their mission.
