The role of Support Staff in our Primary settings across Cheshire East focuses on supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and development across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working on an ad hoc basis across multiple classroom environments. Working alongside teachers and school staff, the role involves helping children to access learning through individual, small-group, and whole-class support, encouraging confidence, independence, and positive relationships. Support Staff may assist with activities such as reading, writing, mathematics, and practical learning, help children to understand instructions and stay engaged, and provide reassurance and guidance where needed.
