OVERVIEW:


Reporting to the Support Work Program Supervisor, the Support Worker is responsible for working alongside families and children to guide and assist them in achieving their goals. Shawenim Abinoojii's mission and values is to support families, and to provide First Nations cultural and spiritual connections to the children and youth in our care. This position is considered casual with the flexibility of working up to full-time hours. This position will work in Winnipeg, the surrounding areas and/or the eight (8) Southeast First Nations Northern Communities we serve.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and supervise family visits to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all involved parties.

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to individuals and families, offering emotional support and practical advice as needed.
