Purpose:   The Surgery Scheduler Assistant is responsible for the scheduling of all surgical appointments, providing a positive first impression of PES and being knowledgeable in complex scheduling scenarios and insurance plans. This includes meeting with patients, answering calls, entering demographic information, scheduling appointments, and providing appointment instructions to patients.
 
Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• Previous ophthalmic technician or medical assistant experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate well with people, both internally and externally utilizing both written and verbal means.
• Exceptional skills in keyboard and operating computer systems and must type at least 45 wpm.
• Ability to work in structured environment with diverse workforce.
• Empathetic to patient and staff needs and concerns.
