Technician, Sedation and Monitoring, Veterinary Medical Centre

Primary Purpose

As the Sedation and Monitoring Technician, you will provide coverage for requested sedation and monitoring of patients for all departments of the hospital. This position will communicate with services and assist in planning and initiating sedation for patient care within the hospital.

Nature of Work

Reporting to the Manager Health Services, this position functions during the core hours of the hospital. Animal handling and manipulations are a constant part of the position. This position works in an animal facility with small (canine, feline, avian, and some exotics) which exposes employees to animal dander, waste, and unpredictability; and requires a substantial amount of lifting, moving, and cleaning of equipment/work area. Subject to some unpleasant odours, dress code, and traffic pattern restrictions.
