TESTING AND COMMISSIONING HV CABLE ENGINEER

The HV Cable Engineer shall oversee installation, jointing, termination, testing, and commissioning of HV cables in accordance with TAQA, utility, and OEM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise HV cable laying, pulling, jointing, and termination works
• Ensure proper execution of cable routes, bending radius, and pulling tension
• Witness and conduct cable testing including IR & Continuity, VLF / AC / DC tests (as applicable), Sheath Integrity Testing
• Coordinate with cable jointers and testing subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with TAQA safety and permit systems
• Prepare installation and test reports, red-line drawings, and handover documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• TAQA Competent Person Certification – Mandatory
• Minimum 6–8 years' experience in HV cable projects
• Experience with 33kV / 66kV / 132kV cables preferred
