JOB DESCRIPTION – THEATRE ANAESTHETIC NURSE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Theatre Anaesthetic Nurse is responsible for preparing the operating theatre for patients, Anaesthetists, and the Surgical Team before surgical procedures. The role includes assisting during anaesthesia administration, maintaining sterile environments, supporting surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

The role also includes Recovery Room Nurse responsibilities, where the nurse monitors and cares for patients immediately following surgery until they are stable for transfer or discharge. The post holder must deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and consultants’ preferences.
