Job Description
Job Scope
- Assist Speech Therapists to supervise and / or monitor patients during meals and swallowing therapies.
- Provide direct 1 to 1 patient care via swallowing therapy, e.g., oromotor exercises, Shakers. and communication therapy
- Provide caregiver training for diet / fluid modification and swallowing therapy
- Complete documentation on therapy tasks accurately and timely.
- Provide assistance before and during Speech Therapy sessions, including preparation of modified diet/fluids, translation of instructions by ST, and patient transfers if needed.
- Maintain consumable inventory for outpatient clinic and for inpatient STs.
- Assist in loan and hire of equipment or materials out of the department including distributing patient materials and clinical supplies.
- Provide administrative support including booking tele-consultation appointment for patients, data entry, billing and photocopying duties.
