Traditional Helper

Overview

Waseskun Healing Centre , in operation since 1988, is located 90 km north of Montreal. We are currently seeking a Traditional Helper to support Indigenous male offenders in our centre as they continue their healing journeys.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the program and case management team.
• Assist the men at our centre in group and individual sessions.
• Participate in activities.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Indigenous realities.
• Strong understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions.
• Experience working with Indigenous men and/or offenders.
• Experience facilitating group sessions.
• Experience providing one-on-one support.
• Experience conducting or supporting traditional ceremonies and activities.
• Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
