Job Description

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an experienced Tug Chief Engineer to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Tug Chief Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of systems aboard the tug vessel, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective operations. This role is critical to maintaining the operational readiness and reliability of the tug for all required maritime services.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all engineering operations aboard the tug, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of the main and auxiliary engines, propulsion systems, generators, electrical systems, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.

Supervise the engineering crew and assign daily tasks to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of all onboard machinery and systems.
