The primary responsibility of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist is:
* Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications.
* Explains and performs the procedure with consideration to the level of understanding and age appropriateness for the patient.
* Able to assess the patient's pain by interfering with the imaging procedure — makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
