Urban Forest Specialist – Auckland Council

As part of the Parks & Community Facilities Department, you’ll work with a diverse team of subject matter experts who are passionate about delivering tangible results for the local community and future generations. As a kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council parks and facilities, you play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.

Responsibilities

• Process Tree Owner Approval applications within your allocated local boards
• Act as the tree owner and technical tree specialist for your allocated local boards
• Respond to inquiries from members of the public and stakeholders relating to trees
• Record tree data in Auckland Council systems
• Determine tree planting locations and species selection for new tree asset planting
