Vet Assistant

Job description:

• Veterinary Assistants work in a supportive role carrying out a range of tasks aimed at improving animal health and welfare.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

• To provide care for animals in all operations
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide compassionate care to patients.
• Performs all duties following hospital medical policies and procedures.
• Assist Veterinarians during patient's consultation and examination.
• Restrain patients appropriately and safely when required.
• Care for patients, including getting their weight and temperature.
• Maintain stock control of bandages, cotton, medicines, and syringes inside the consultation rooms.
• Maintain hygiene by cleaning and disinfecting consultation rooms.
• Demonstrate excellent relations which clients/pets in consultation and/or exam rooms.
