VIA Rail Senior Mechanical Engineering Advisor

In this permanent role reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will oversee mechanical systems for our Long Distance, Regional and Remote fleets. You'll act as an authority in mechanical engineering, influencing across teams, managing supplier partnerships, and validating designs. Your expertise will assure safe and reliable solutions for our rail services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Function as technical SME for LDRR engineering
• Challenge and approve supplier technical documents
• Ensure compliance with safety and technical standards
• Collaborate with internal Operations and Project Management teams
• Facilitate fleet introduction and transition processes
