Overview

The Vice‑President, Enterprise Data Engineering is accountable for data engineering excellence as a core enterprise discipline at CIBC. This role leads the Enterprise Data Engineering Chapter, setting standards, developing talent, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality data engineering practices across all business‑aligned delivery teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Data Engineering Craft & Standards:
  • Own and evolve enterprise data engineering standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • Develop and maintain ELT/ETL frameworks with embedded data quality, metadata, and lineage.
  • Oversee data contracts, schema evolution, and backward compatibility.
  • Implement reusable ingestion, transformation, and serving patterns for structured and unstructured data.
