Volunteer Friendly Visitor Role Available

Enhance the lives of residents as a Friendly Visitor volunteer in Whitchurch-Stouffville. By providing companionship, you can help reduce feelings of isolation within the long-term care community at Mon Sheong.
In this impactful role, you will connect with seniors through various enjoyable activities, helping to mitigate loneliness and support their emotional well-being. Flexibly schedule your commitment with shifts spanning 3-4 hours, while making a minimum commitment of 6 months to ensure meaningful relationships.

• Engage residents in mutually enjoyable activities
• Support emotional and social connectedness
• Be reliable, punctual, and adaptable
• Show respect and compassion toward residents
• Communicate issues to the program staff
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years
• English, Cantonese, or Mandarin communication skills
• Completed TB screening and Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Strong interest in supporting residents
