Purpose:

Athene signed the first reinsurance agreement in Japan in 2020. Over the past 5 years Athene has transacted 8 reinsurance deals across 7 cedents with 6 Flow and 2 Block transactions, totaling US$19 billion, with Japanese life insurers as cedants. Athene believes Japan to be a significantly strategic market and activated an insurance broker affiliate ARJS (Athene Re Japan Solutions) to let it support those Japanese cedants.
