Job Description

In this role, you will weld steel and metal components used in cranes, crane bases, and power and hand winches. You will work from prints and specifications, maintain quality standards, and contribute to building products that are reliable and durable.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, and wire feed speed as required.
• Start power supply to produce electric current.
• Strike (form) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
• Manually guide gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
